Can anyone help me find my manilla envelope?

I have lost a brown envelope. It contains documents (paperwork) relating to my father. I really need it. It’s an A4 Manilla envelope. It was under my chest of drawers for about a year. It was then moved, by my husband I think.

I’ve seen this done successfully on here before - please help 😁. Some of you clearly have amazing powers. Please help.

Take all the drawers out of any storage units and check if it's fallen down the back of the drawer and got wedged. Good luck!

FairyMaclary · 02/01/2026 16:39

Good idea. I’ve checked the drawers in my room and behind them (where it was but yes I’ll check the back)

Search your wardrobe to make sure it’s not been shoved in there somewhere.

FairyMaclary · 02/01/2026 17:09

Thank you - not in my wardrobe but I’ll check again

Did it get put into a bookcase somewhere as a safe place? In amongst the tall books? Or slid under a mattress or into a shallow drawer under the clothes? (sorry I see you've checked drawers)

Screenadelica · 02/01/2026 17:13

Between two pieces of furniture? Behind a bedside table?

333FionaG · 02/01/2026 17:13

Check in the towel pile in the bathroom, That's where I found DH's car keys (unfortunately after he'd paid £250 for a replacement set)

SayWhatty · 02/01/2026 17:17

Under a pile of post or magazines.
Under a laptop, or in a laptop bag.
In your bedside table, possibly jammed so it doesn't come out when you open the drawer.
On its side in a bookcase or next to an appliance.

Arlanymor · 02/01/2026 17:23

Did he move it to where you keep the rest of your important documents?

Nucleus · 02/01/2026 17:24

Under your mattress/bed?
In a filing cabinet? Perhaps under any hanging files.
Bottom of your wardrobe? Or on top?
Behind books on a shelf?
Down the back of the chest of drawers? Or in a drawer under everything?
Any shelf where it could have been slid in under things? E.g. an airing cupboard

FairyMaclary · 02/01/2026 17:26

Not behind drawers.
Not in wardrobe.
Not on top of wardrobe - I balanced on a stool on a chair 😂 - that’s how desperate I am!

Not inside my bed - luckily that’s empty as had Xmas gifts hidden in it!

Not Behind bed or drawers - just cobwebs - so that’s a post envelope job!

Have you 'pinned the Devil' and cast a prayer request to St Anthony?

ilovepixie · 02/01/2026 19:46

Have you asked St Anthony?

ohyesido · 02/01/2026 19:49

Do you have a cabinet near a dog bowl?

FairyMaclary · 02/01/2026 20:34

I don’t have a dog nor dog bowl.

No I have not asked St Anthony, nor have I cast the devil.

What prayer should I say? How do I cast the devil?

I’ve still not found it - I’ve been looking since 12 (including in the loft - which is where I think it is).
However I have just remembered in my loft I have a paw print drawing!

Okay I googled and have recited a long prayer and a shorter mantra (which my kids also did). This was it.

St. Anthony, perfect imitator of Jesus, who received from God the special power of restoring lost things, grant that I may find [name the item] which has been lost. At least restore to me peace and tranquility of mind, the loss of which has afflicted me even more than my material loss. To this favor, I ask another of you: that I may always remain in possession of the true good that is God. Let me rather lose all things than lose God, my supreme good. Let me never suffer the loss of my greatest treasure, eternal life with God". This prayer is often accompanied by a popular rhyme: "Tony, Tony, look around. Something's lost and must be found!".

I have not cast the devil. But happy to try anything to find it.

@ohyesido

dog paw print is in the loft. I have searched up there (so many boxes up there) but I have a feeling it may be up there!

No cabinet up there tho

Do you have documents relating to rent or mortgage? Your husband may have moved them to the same place as these important documents. Or with the passports, birth certificates etc.

No went through the file this afternoon and sadly it’s not there. It may have been moved when we cleared the room for a carpet to be laid. Very annoying.

Earthen bowl - a dog bowl. Hmm cannot think of anything like a dog bowl. However my attic is like Aladdin’s cave (with tat rather than jewels sadly) so there may be a bowl up there 😂

With the pin the Devil thing, just get a pin/needle or any small pointy thing and stick it in a cushion or pillow three times whilst say out loud "I pin the Devil" whilst focussing on the lost thing on each stab...

Blarn · 02/01/2026 21:17

Have you taken the drawers out completely? I once found an envelope which had somehow got stuck to the bottom of a drawer, as in the underside.

FairyMaclary · 03/01/2026 05:02

Yes drawers taken out. Bookshelves checked. Devil pinned. Awake early thinking about envelope.
