What’s your absolute favourite restaurant to go to for a lovely lunch on a weekend?

I like the various branches of Mildreds but they are buzzy and bustling, not Michelin star stuff.

Forgottenmyphone · 31/12/2025 16:50

Jacuzzi on Kensington High St

whatandindeedwhy · 31/12/2025 16:51

Mildred’s is great. Also like Bubala

JDM625 · 31/12/2025 16:51

My favourite restaurant was an Italian which has now sadly shut.

I've personally never been, but a friend raves about 'The Ned' and their all you can eat buffet.

I've never had a bad meal at the German Gymnasium at Kings Cross.

Savoir Faire - just past centre point. French family run and gorgeous.

Andrew Edmunds, French House or Noble Rot during the winter (all in Soho).

justatrifle · 31/12/2025 17:04

Fischer's on Marylebone High Street

ohyesido · 31/12/2025 17:05

Happy London is my favourite

RiverRed · 31/12/2025 17:07

Le Sacre Coeur, Islington is a lovely French bistro about 10 minutes on foot from Angel tube.

Mercurial123 · 31/12/2025 17:09

Maroush for Lebanese and Hoppers for Sri Lankan.

SE20schools · 31/12/2025 17:14

Noble Rot or Bouchon Racine

Lucia573 · 31/12/2025 17:17

Lemonia, Primrose Hill.

Tootingbec · 31/12/2025 17:26

Aribica in Borough Market for Middle Eastern - food is always fantastic and great for mixed groups if you have vegetarian and meat eaters.

ScarletWitchM · 31/12/2025 17:33

The Gun on Isle of Dogs does a great Sunday roast as does Blacklock Canary Wharf & Brindisa at Borough does lovely Tapas lunch

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 31/12/2025 17:38

The food here is wonderful

Vargas · 31/12/2025 17:41

Town on Drury Street. Or the Delaunay on the Aldwych. Or the French House in SoHo. Also Cafe Francois in Borough Market.

Fretfulagain · 31/12/2025 17:55

Depends where you are and what mood you are in - if central brasserie zedel is reliable and fun so is where we usually go (if not going for dim sum).

Blump2783 · 31/12/2025 18:23

Crikey, that's a tough one as there are so many good places.

ItsOnlyHobnobs · 31/12/2025 18:25

Another vote for Bouchon Racine, great French food.

santasbaubles · 31/12/2025 18:38

It used to be the much-missed Great Queen Street. Now I would probably say Berners Tavern.

Florencesndzebedee · 31/12/2025 21:28

Im quite old fashioned I think- always love The Cow in Notting Hill, Ottolenghi on Upper Street which is just fine for food but always makes me feel like it’s the 90s and I’m an extra in a Richard Curtis film, Honey and Co- particularly for the brunch end of lunch, and The Boot and Flogger in Southwark for Sunday lunch.

Whosthetabbynow · 01/01/2026 16:49

Any Hawksmoor
