Noise cancelling hearing aids

I have basic NHS BTE hearing aids. I'm wary of spending thousands of pounds on private noise cancelling hearing aids in case they work no better than the ones I have. ATM I find places such as busy supermarkets stressful due to loud music and noisy conversations. Even the heat curtain over the entrance can be louder than my DH talking to me.
Please does anyone have noise cancelling hearing aids and if so how would they rate them?
Thank you for reading

I have NHS ones which dim background noise-but nowhere near as good as NC headphones. But useful in a noisy restaurant. They are operated by my phone. Can you just get new ones on the NHS?

I wasn't offered anything other than the basic ones I have. I will look into this, thank you

I find being in a cafe or restaurant almost unbearable nowadays due to the music mostly and do ask for it to be turned down (a friend I meet also finds it a problem). I can't go out with more than a couple of people either as it is always a struggle to hear them.

Mine are NHS digital aids and no way can I afford private ones. Have no idea if or how I can adjust them against background noise but I'll make an appointment with the audiologist in the New Year. I find them rather dismissive though :-(
Probably fed up with dealing with older people like me.

Good luck OP!

Mine have a restaurant mode where I can focus on the people around me. Wind noise adjustment. I can use the equaliser to adjust the sound. Bluetooth to my phone so a call goes to my HA. And no bulky volume control on the HA-all on the phone!

Thank you , that's very useful

If I'm somewhere noisy I will often mute my aids via my phone. I find they block out almost all noise so it's like having noise-cancelling. I can still listen to music or have a phone call, I'm just getting hardly any external sound.

Can you have the ones where you can add white noise? My DD17 has these. Saying they she rarely uses then as we bought her Apple NC headphones and Bose ear buds which she uses as they’re better because she hardly tolerates any noise
