I have 2. First is my coffee machine. It grinds the beans, so I can have a freshly brewed coffee each morning. I love it!
Second one is a prize from postcode lottery. It's a rechargeable hot water bottle, and it's been a game changer! Especially useful for when I'm cold watching DS play rugby....

Fly ankle boots which I have worn nearly every day.

Nuxe day cream. So soft it glides on.

ChopstickNovice · 31/12/2025 09:01

Also- not really a purchase as such but finding an excellent tailor in my city!!

clinellwipe · 31/12/2025 09:04

secondhand hot wheels garage from fb marketplace. It’s probably the most consistently played with toy he’s ever had

stilldumdedumming · 31/12/2025 09:07

Honestly- a knock off snooze band (headband with headphones). I think I’m addicted!

CactusRabbit · 31/12/2025 09:12

Off to look up Sea salt coats...might be handy when I walk the dog!

That is an absolute joy, isn’t it, @ChopstickNovice? I always feel frustrated for posters on S&B who reject perfectly lovely garments because of something that could be really easily altered.

I’ve had a quiet year spending-wise. The most satisfying purchase has been a piece of art bought for someone else. But otherwise: a mighty winter weight Devon Duvets wool duvet which has transformed my bed and a Margaret Howell kagool that has made rainy walks a pleasure.

isthismylifenow · 31/12/2025 09:24

Mine have to be my Birkenstock Bend trainers.

I have worn them almost every day. They have to be the most comfortable closed shoes I have.

Deciding to do my own nails at home. No pressure of appointments. Saved so much money. And my nails are so much healthier. And I don't have that terrible grown out nail look in between appointments.

Do you have a link @stilldumdedumming? I can't justify buying the snooze band.

My new eyes .
Private surgery after an accident badly affected the retina in my ' good' eye and caused floaters obscuring much of my sight and my lazy eye also needed cataract surgery. NHS said I'd just have to live with it , but id lost my my ability to see so much- and especially read and focus close work like sewing , both of which I love - it was really depressing . Ended up getting another opinion and paying for private surgery on both .. I now have perfect sight back in damaged eye and , even my 'lazy' eye is a billion times better ..I just now need off the shelf reading glasses after years of expensive prescription ones.. Huge hole in bank account but just wonderful

landlordhell · 31/12/2025 09:32

Probably breaks away, mostly in UK as I tend to remember a year that way.

Myblueclematis · 31/12/2025 09:37

A Ninja Smoothie Maker.

I bought it just after I recovered from Covid and I now make Kefir smoothies with strawberries, blueberries and whatever other berries I have in the freezer most days.

I honestly thought it would live in the back of the cupboard after a week or so but no, I absolutely love it and would buy another one tomorrow if this one packed up.

DontCallMeBaby · 31/12/2025 09:40

New kitchen. But also the air fryer that got us through seven weeks without a kitchen.

Ozlo sleep buds. They were so expensive and an absolute gamble … but they allow me to share a room with DH on holiday without murdering him.

Refresssher · 31/12/2025 09:45

A solicitor for my divorce.

Seafaring Coat - Seasalt Cornwall

This is the one I have. Mine is the green one, 'heath'.

Ninja airfryer.
An gadget that you charge and it pumice stones your feet. I stand at work and get corns and calluses and I used to go to a chiropodist a few times a year to get them removed but now I don't need to.

@BrandyandGingercould you link the gadget for your feet please? I’d love this

Getting air conditioning fitted in our bedroom, life changing. (Can be used to heat the room quickly as well as cool, so it’s been amazing year round!)

Also love my new car, newest car I’ve owned and every day I get in it and find a new gadget which I love and changes my life 🤣

On the less expensive end of the scale I replaced my saucepans after the panorama episode on plastics etc and can’t believe how much they’ve improved my cooking and clearing up experience! Actually don’t stick and wash up really easily.

A Roka Gatwick holdall bag. A fairly basic item but I now spend a lot of time travelling between elderly parents and it just works very well for me - an upgrade from the supermarket shopping bag I was previously using.

Also I finally have waterproof walking boots 🤗...something I've really needed for ages but never a priority.

What were your walking boots. I fancy something with a cosy lining. Thank you… well done on the bag upgrade.

Clefable · 31/12/2025 09:50

My Peloton bike! Love it and I’m so much fitter now.

Close second is my Ninja pizza oven.

Aww I love this. Glad to hear it's all worked out.

I'm saving up for private surgery that the NHS said they won't pay for even though it's severely affecting my quality of life. I've been suffering for 8 years and only now in a financial position to start saving. It'll take another 2 years - hope I can make it!

Which pans did you get? Are they stainless steel?

WonsWoo · 31/12/2025 09:56

A plane ticket to go and visit my DD far far away.

imnottoofussed · 31/12/2025 09:57

@stilldumdedummingwhich specific one did you get as I think I’d like one too
