If you had £50 to spend at John Lewis… what would you buy?

I’ve been given a £50 voucher for John Lewis from a lovely friend but have no idea what to use it for! There is nothing we need for the house so I thought about using it to buy something for the kids but actually given it’s just been Christmas - I think I’ll treat myself! So. If you had £50 to spend at JL and didn’t want to top it up with extra money, what would you buy yourself as a treat?

Some nice perfume (might need to bump up some of your own cash for the price though).

I had a £100 voucher from work at JL for Christmas and spent it on some reduced NEOM candles - they are simply the best and I was thoroughly pleased with myself!

I bought 3 tops yesterday all reduced to £50, so great quality but a good price. I was spending Christmas money, not my usual clothes spend

Bobbi Brown face cream.

2 Fantasie bras, on sale and a good price now.

I’d buy some nice bath and moisturiser products from Clarins.

This is going to sound boring(!) but the mugs we got from JL are brilliant and still going strong 8 years later, I would get more of their mugs and some plates. Also love their own brand pants, though they are a staple and not a treat item!

in the past john lewis used to give cash if you didn’t spend full value of vouchers in store e.g. if you bought something for £5 with £50 voucher you could get £45 in cash - may not do that anymore though ?

I bought a Speedo swimsuit from JL, under fifty quid in the sale, reduced from over £60, it’s lovely.

I bought a cashmere jumper last January reduced to £19! You might be equally fortunate in which case you could buy a nice lipstick as well.

I had a look on the website earlier and they have lots of lovely things on sale. I'd get a reduced white stuff top.

I’d get the Neom Joy Candle (£24), the wildflowers tote bag (£10), a bunch of artificial silk flowers (12) and a coffee in the cafe.

Thank you all! Have decided to go with a couple of the Neom candles. Haven’t tried them before the reviews appear good so I’ll give them a try! x
