I’m fantasising about two days alone in my house. Anyone else?

Christmas has been lovely, but absolutely crazy. Non stop family time, the kids out of routine and bouncing off the walls (we have done lots of activities with them, but they have no chill). I’m at soft play right now dreaming of just two quiet days to myself. I would do a long run in the sun by the river, then have a bath and relax on the sofa without ‘muuummm’ or having to run to the next family activity.

Anyone else want to admit to the same fantasy?

It's taken 20 years, but today and yesterday it's just been me, DP, the cat and the dog. It really is blissful. Those days will arrive! Hang on in there!

Completely. I’d like everyone, including my own family, but most of all dh to just bugger off and leave me alone.

DH has taken DC swimming, so for the next 2 hours it’s just me and the dog on the sofa - bliss!

DH and the kids went away overnight to an event in May; and I had two full days alone in the house just me and the dog.

I went to the gym, tidied the house (it actually stayed tidy!), watch lots of TV, long bath with a podcast and had a takeaway to myself.

It was such a lovely way to spend bank holiday!

This is what I dream about, it happened once and it was wonderful.
I may not like it long term though.

Not quite the same, but for a couple of birthdays I've asked for an overnight hotel stay in local city. Get to do what I want on day 1 - this was a lido with a massage and lunch, check into hotel mid afternoon after going to get some easy food / some chocs and small bottle of wine to have in my room. Read, had a long bath, watched tv and had an early night and a lie in...no having to think about other people's needs, or having to feed anyone else...and just have some silence. No having to sleep through DH snoring...
I have recommended it to a few people now - just book a hotel room! Doesn't have to be an expensive one. Just be away...
