Is St Pancras to Gatwick Airport direct on Thames Link?

DS needs to get to Gatwick airport on 18 Jan anytime after 3pm (one way no retuen needed), googled and says from St Pancras is direct. When he's looked at national rail timetable, it's saying 2 changes. Any ideas?

Yes, there are direct trains.

It is a direct line but there may be changes if there are engineering works that day.

It might be easier to go to Victoria on the tube from KX/St Pancras tube station and then go direct from there.

Look on the thameslink site. There are often engineering works at weekends

There are usually. But not if they’re not timetabled! 18th is a Sunday, so she may have to change. There are often fewer direct trains on Sundays.

There are engineering works/rail replacement buses that day on the direct line from St Pancras to Gatwick.

HIs quickest alternative route is to get the Victoria line from St Pancras to Victoria and then the train down to Gatwick from Victoria (any train that’s heading to the South coast, although Gatwick express is the quickest)

Brighton train stops at Gatwick normally
But after looking at day in question you would be better going to victoria
(The 2 change ones seem to involve rail replacement)

Looks like works if going from St Pancras.

And Horsham or Three Bridges TL. There are sometimes engineering works which means the southern bound start/end at London Bridge.

I had a look - there’s no direct trains on that date and a lot are replaced by buses. There are direct trains from Victoria though - 15.27 and 15.57.
