I always feel a bit rubbish after Christmas looking ahead to Jan and Feb - back to work, back to reality etc. what are people doing for themselves/families to make the next couple of months of winter a little nicer?
My DH will now be working away all week every week (except Fridays) so I’m feeling the post holiday blues a little more this year!

Oh nooo. Well at least you can set yourself up a great routine. Embrace the schedule! Get through mon-Thurs, something nice weekly on a Fri to perk everyone up once DH is home? You get some time to yourself every Saturday or Sunday after mon-Thurs alone with the kids (assuming you have kids).

Weekly parkrun?
Get some dates in with friends - come round for a cuppa, go for a walk, come round for dinner, go to cinema etc.
Get some social things booked in for the kids.
Plan your summer.

Thank you @ResusciAnnie☺️. Yes, I need to embrace the routine!!! I do have a DC who is in preschool full time so I will get some time Thursday and Friday while she is at school to get myself together. Park run is a great shout - I have actually taken up running after a very long time so that sounds like a good thing to add! I’ll definitely reach out to friends to try and book some stuff in too.
once DH is home, he is brilliant and very hands on with no complaints so I know I’m very lucky!

Almost an empty nester here - so it's a little different. I have come to look forward to January and hibernate and enjoy not having to shop or entertain anyone. I do put little things on the calendar to get me through though like cinema or local theatre trips. And I try to start a new activity. Last year I started running but have had to stop as I have hip issues. But I'll come up with something new this year. Otherwise I watch TV and read. And book a holiday to look forward to.
