What do I order if I want really good quality printer paper? The sort of paper you used to buy to write letters on?

Have a look at the gram.

@CurlewKate
Check what the maximum GSM is that your printer is designed to take, the higher the GSM the higher the quality.
Basildon Bond letter writing paper is 90gsm, and may jam printers

Thank you!

120gsm minimum. Also look for "brilliant white" and "smooth" on the packet.

But if you want that kind of ribbed feeling old fashioned posh paper, look for "laid" paper. That type is better in a cream or ivory (IMO).

Check what your printer can cope with.

Mine happily chugs through 80 gsm - photocopier paper - and can just about cope with 90 gsm, a sheet at a time.
