Preparation for a hysterectomy

I'm currently 2 months in to Prostap injections in order to help my endometriosis before a hysterectomy (hopefully laparoscopic) booked for 3 months time. I really want to recover as well as possible (particularly as there's a risk it may need to become an open operation) and wondered what people would recommend in terms of preparation - any particular exercises, strength training, nutrition? I'm also aware that Prostap has put me into menopause so would welcome any food/exercise recommendations to help with that?

Pelvic floor exercises. Download the nhs squeezy app and do them 4 x a day starting now. Do them religiously going forward.
Post op the best advice I was given was to walk daily, just 5 mins a day for the first week, then add 5 mins each new week so that by week 6 you are walking for 30 mins a day.
Get some dulcoease (NOT dulcolax!) the morphine and lack of movement leaves you constipated and you don’t want to be straining post op.
Co codamol also causes constipation, I stopped that asap once discharged. The pain does ease remarkably quickly tbh and I found it manageable with paracetamol the first week.
After a couple of weeks don’t be surprised once the internal swelling goes down, if you get a gush of blood. I had some that was trapped by the swelling that then gushed alarmingly once the swelling went down and allowed it to escape.
High protein aids recovery, avoiding alcohol and just moving as much as possible. If you just lie around your muscles lose tone remarkably quickly.

I hope all goes smoothly, wishing you a speedy recovery!

Thanks so much @YouDriveMeCrazyButICanDoThatMyself this is all really helpful! I've downloaded the Squeezy app now and will make a note of all the other tips.
