If so what did you think of it ? What age did you go for it ? I’m thinking after I’m 50 I might go for it

I did think of having my then dirty blonde mixed with 3 growing in shades of grey bleached then died grey but my hairdresser told me it would ruin my hair texture wise. It was enough to decide to just grow it out and though it got on my nerves at time my hair is beautiful and worth the time it took to grow in.

I think I was about 60 when I started and I’m now late 60’s. People even stop me in the street and ask me about it.

No but I moved to ‘grey blending’ highlights. I was 46, had been box dying my hair beige blond every 4 weeks for years but my silver roots were becoming really obvious. My hairdresser suggested highlights (mix of lightest ash blond and silvery tones). I didn’t believe her but it’s worked and I can now get away with having it done every 12 weeks. Have a look on insta for lots of inspiration.

I would avoid doing this. It will trash your hair. I too had blond highlights put in, having toned down my colour a bit first. I have been silver since I was 45. I went grey in my early 20s, and dyed it for years, and just got so tired of it. So happy with my hair now, and it’s much healthier without the dye.

I had some blending highlights put in last year. I regret it. It looked great for a while but it damaged my hair, and I'm now back to growing it out ..when it had been natural for years. So now salt and pepper grey with nasty brassy ends despite purple shampoos etc.
I won't be doing it again.. just trimming and growing it grey and hopefully one day it will be silver!

I'm not sure if it actually looks better growing against briwn rather than yellow blonde
