MIL gifts (light hearted)

My MIL (we've been together 10 years) always sends a joint card with money in, usually £100, which we obviously appreciate totally. As well as chocolates, crisps etc
So this year, after we took her to a hotel for a lovely pre Christmas lunch (she apparently can't manage 3 small steps up to our front door) we received a joint Christmas card with 2 money envelopes inside. Mine included 2 very tatty £5 notes. DH received considerably more
🤣🤣🤣. Message received loud and clear
I'm sure others on here had worse gifts

I have a sort of reverse. Ex MIL would always send me a birthday card with a £10 note "to get myself a drink" - which was very sweet of her. One year, no cash but same directive "to get myself a drink" with enclosed. I knew she would never be so duplicitous to 'pretend' she'd enclosed cash and just assumed she'd misremembered. A few days later mentioned to EX. He laughed as he said he'd opened my card - knowing there'd be £10 and appropriated it. Because he couldn't be arsed to go to an ATM. This was in the days where you had to go a Bank to get cash or do 'cash back' via Debit Card.
