It's got to be Iceland lasagne for £1. It's a great size, has to be cooked in the oven for me so the top goes crispy and it's delicious! A bloody quid too!

Followed closely by Asda cheese and vegetable pie. It's got a mash top instead of pastry, from the chilled aisle and might be around £3. It's heaven!

Admirals fish pie by Youngs.

I get the 1.00 ones from iceland too for when I work late and also helped me get weight off as calorie counted. Probably have one once a week. I agree lasagne nice. The fish pie one is too. Got my son the macroni cheese that did not look nice.

The Halls macaroni cheese in the chilled aisle. About a £1.
The Rustlers burger range. £1.24
Tikka Masala from the Asda curry range. £2.47.

The M&S lamb with redcurrant gravy & colcannon mash. I had it for the first time on Christmas Day as I was working (NHS). £5.25 though so not sure if it’s worth that much. Nice for a treat though.

I had the M&S chicken chow mein at work on Christmas Eve and that was also lovely. The chicken hadn’t turned to rubber like it seems to in other ready meals.

I like the M & S Sausage Penne and Tesco’s Finest Chicken Satay

Yourinmyspot · 27/12/2025 21:18

I like the M&S jalfrezi it’s just like a takeaway one. I also like the Charlie Bighams meatballs but only buy it occasionally and if it’s on offer as not cheap. Cheaper ones the coop macaroni cheese and lasagne are quite nice.

I order from Simmer every other week and really rate them, esp the Asian style/curry meals. Not cheap compared to some of PPs, £4-5 a meal, but has saved me from many a takeaway/crap meal after work.

MrsofClaus · 28/12/2025 08:24

I like the sound of the Asda cheese and vegetable pie I'll look out for that thanks @Chefpig .

I have a £100 voucher for M&S so might get some ready meals there for work?

Edited for typo

Sainsbury’s TTD - vegetable moussaka 😋

Meadowfinch · 28/12/2025 08:36

I don't eat ready meals but my favourite 5 minute meal is:

  • Slice a clove of garlic and warm it in some oil.
  • Drain a can of tuna and a can of cannelini beans, and add them to the pan with the garlic.
  • Stir and heat through. Serve on a bed of rocket.

Fast healthy comfort food, for when I've had a bad day. 😊

M&S mushroom pappadarelle, I also use half a packet of their mushroom cup a soup to make a sauce for it. Delicious.

If I am not in a hurry I like to make one of those Big Pot Noodles.

If I am in hurry three or four Dairylea triangles. I just bite the end off and squeeze 'em into my mouth. Yum

This is funny! I also like dairylea triangles. Other makes just don't do it me.
