NYE at home with a teen

DH and I are going to be in with DD13.
She wants to stay up until midnight. Any ideas please as to what we can all do together to entertain her? I'd like to make it memorable.

Chocolate fondue, mocktails, some silly board games and small fireworks (Roman candles, Catherine wheels etc..) in your garden

Any tabletop/card games that she likes?

Also, a lively film.

Board games, fireworks, something special for dinner. Can she have a friend over to sleepover? Would be more fun that way for her. My teen is probably inviting a friend round for new year's eve

We played Jackbox games with our kids one New Year's Eve a couple of/ few years ago when they were all here - they enjoyed it. It's an app everyone downloaded on their phone and also on the smart-tv. Silly party games with drawing and writing slogans and guessing things - I can't remember all the details but you can easily look it up.

There are other similar apps now so more choice.

Alternatively a board game or Cluedo or Monopoly on a console - bit more dynamic and faster paced than as a board game if your DD might not be eager to play the old fashioned version.

That, snack food, a film, and be finished just in time for the last ten minutes of one of the countdown programmes - then we watched fireworks from our doorstep but that's specific to living somewhere you can see a display from obviously.

Have fun!

We do buffet, board games and a quiz. Then jools Holland

Same thing you’ve done every other year? What do you usually do? We usually have party food and a film

Some good ideas here. I will discuss them with DH.
We will do it as just us because soon enough she will be wanting to out on NYE with her friends.
