I never message my bestie with random memes, gifs or messages. Everything i send is quite practical eg nothing like "look at this I'm currently in the shop/ something I'm watching/i Happened to see in passing". I just never think to.

I rarely suggest going out - i just cba or I'm too tired. I like the comfort and safety of being at home

I'm 53 - yes I still use the term 'bestie"

Am I boring ?

I think it matters a bit more what your 'bestie' thinks rather than random MNetters.

Being boring at 53 is nothing to sniff at. Remember that ancient curse "may you live in interesting times"

Hello19834 · 26/12/2025 22:21

No I don't think you are!
We're all different and do things in our own way. I love being at home too but occasionally go out but don't like to be out for long. Doesn't make me boring I don't think.

MrDobbs · 26/12/2025 22:37

To me, none of the things you described in
your post have any bearing on whether you are boring or not.

And plenty of boring people send memes, GIFs and mindless messages and like going out and boring the pants off the people they meet (not literally) by talking mostly about themselves and trivialities of their life with other people.

RescueMeFromThisSilliness · 26/12/2025 22:45

No,not boring at all.

I'd much prefer your approach than the endless Minions memes and 'share this schmaltzy poem to remember your grandad in heaven' stuff I get from one of my friends.

mondaytosunday · 26/12/2025 22:57

No not boring but not making much of an effort to sustain the relationship. If it drifts away you can only blame yourself.
