Just that really. Thinking about it as a side earner but not sure of rates

£3 an hour

I am friends with an ex instructor who in 2019 was getting paid £20 a class. He thinks the gym now pays £24 a class. He had to pay a music license fee of £2 a class if he used the copyright music

Depends where you work as will vary quite a bit. Lots of gyms will use contracted staff eg gym with the extra qualifications as it’s cheaper for them

It depends where they work as to what they'll get paid. The instructors at our gym get about £20ish per class; with an extra £5 if they have more than 25 in the class. You need to pay for content from les Mills though

So two classes a day 4 days a week about £160 if I’m lucky. Definitely not a full time job

Think you also have to pay for a recertification maybe every year? Either go to a day or send a video in for their assessment.

I always read this as Les Mis.

Not a lot around £20 here. Moonlight babysitting is better paid.

£20 a class sometimes less. You’ll also need to pay your own insurance and you have to pay £40 per quarter per programme for the classes you teach to get the new releases. You also have to do additional ‘touch points’ which is basically like CPD to keep your certification and it’s around £400per programme to certify. You’ll also need either a level 2 fitness instructor qualification or an exercise to music qualification to teach in most commercial gyms. Plus learning the new choreography every quarter and likely in between to keep things fresh so members don’t get bored of your classes.
It’s a hobby at best. You will make virtually nothing. Ask me how I know
