Look on Pawshake & rover.com - hopefully there will be someone in your area who can help at short notice. Good luck.

Elizabethandfour · 26/12/2025 16:57

You poor thing try pawshake.co.uk

Astrabees · 26/12/2025 17:15

If you ask for recommendations on your local Facebook page I’m sure you will find someone good. We did this and have an amazing pet sitter who is adored by our two little dogs.

Asher91 · 26/12/2025 17:20

Hi thanks you I'm not on Facebook as I was bullied had come off for my own safety

Ask your vet, they may have staff who do emergency dog sitting. Best wishes 💐

Do you have neighbours, they might be able to supply some level of help, alongside others you know. If not, local holiday kennels - might be Xmas, but could still be quiet

Asher91 · 26/12/2025 18:22

Sunnyside I have no friends I'm cut off plus house bound in wheelchair 😞🙏

EmpressaurusKitty · 26/12/2025 18:45

Have you googled dog sitters on your area & tried all the sites that come up?

OrigamiOwls · 26/12/2025 18:49

Might be worth rejoining (under a new profile) Facebook - there are pet sitting groups on there who might be able to help short notice

Blanketenvy · 26/12/2025 19:17

Rover might be good or you can do a Google search for local pet sitters. Also lots of people are on Facebook using a different name to their own for privacy and local dog community groups are a good place to ask.

December2025 · 26/12/2025 19:21

Sorry but what answer can you actually expect?
An offer of somebody having your pet?
You seem to be dismissing every answer.

Asher91 · 26/12/2025 19:23

Hi I trying everything u said can I tell you other reason to?

OP posts:
Cat1504 · 26/12/2025 19:25

Go back on Facebook under a different name

Phial · 26/12/2025 19:27

Ask at the hospital. It can't be the first time this has happened, they might have a suggestion. How long will you be away from them?

FlorenceAndTheVagine · 26/12/2025 19:32

Rover is the obvious answer.

Neighbours - they don’t have to be your friends.

If you are sectioned, or a medical emergency admission, social services can take your animals to a council-approved facility.

UxmalFan · 26/12/2025 19:36

OP are you looking for someone on mumsnet to offer to care for your dogs? There are lots of kind people on here but no guarantee you'll be contacted by someone genuine, so it's too risky. You need to find someone who has been checked out. Trusted Housesitters is a possibility for a live in pet carer. Or book the dogs into kennels for the period you are away.

PInkyStarfish · 26/12/2025 19:42

Who is walking them whilst you are housebound in a wheelchair? Can they not help?

misscockerspaniel · 26/12/2025 19:44

My local animal shelter will look after pets in the event of such an emergency. In your situation, I would contact the nearest Dog Trust, PDSA, rescue places, dog training groups etc, even vets you don't use. Someone will know someone who can help.
