Martyr?
You should have woken them up.
Our house had 12. Paper and gifts still strewn awaiting the owners clearing up.

They were all called, but I can't keep cajoling.

If i didn't do it, it would still be waiting to be done tonight, sigh

And what would happen if it wasn’t done until tonight?
If it’s because you personally wouldn’t enjoy spending time in the house, could you go out somewhere next year until they are up and ready to help?

So? Does it really matter if it's left? Clear yourself a patch and some clean plates and let them clear up when they eventually get up.

Start cooking bacon for sarnies . . . the smell should bring the troops downstairs. Then allocate jobs and they don't get their bacon sarnies until the house is clean and tidy

It's lovely living in fairyland, isn't it!!!! 😂

We hosted 9. dh and I shared cooking, Dsis and I cleared/loaded dishwasher. This morning Dh cleared table and I washed the left over glasses/bowls from last night. But it took half hour max?

They don’t need to get up as they know you will just get in with it. My husband once said his mother enjoyed doing it when he was growing up - this was during a chat at dinner when he was an adult and she nearly slapped him. As she didn’t enjoy it she just did what you do and they continued to enjoy her doing it all .
