Merry Christmas mumsnetters! I have to cook a 2kg ham that I wasn’t planning on cooking, I’d normally do low and slow the night before in the slow cooker but have no time for that bollockology now.

What's the quickest way I can make it tasty with minimal effort? I have an oven, air fryer and instant pot at my disposal.

Also, it hasn’t been steeped or anything like that so how can I ensure it’s not super salty?

Put it in the slow cooker and eat it tomorrow..?
If that’s really not an option the instant pot will be quickest and keep it out of the way of everything else

Boil 20mins per pound plus 20mins.

Boil for about 2 hours in water with a couple of onions, carrots, peppercorns and bay leaves.
Then take the rind off, score the fat, cover with brown sugar and mustard and pop in the oven for 20 minutes. Delicious!

Any full sugar coke ? Boil in that . Then roast to finish with mustard or similar

If you put it in the slow cooker covered in boiling water, on high now, you can eat it from 2pm ish (will be better 4pm-6pm tho).

I didn't add anything to ours yesterday, just water.

Instant Pot. 11 mins per 500g at high pressure, 250ml water in the bottom, pop it on the trivet. Let pressure release naturally. Did this with mine last night and it's worked a treat.

Thanks everyone, I think I’ll give the instant pot version a go just for the sake of ease 👍

We put it in the pressure cooker with quite a bit of water and food for 45mins. Always comes out perfect.
