Why is the Epstein information coming out in dribs and drabs?

The Epstein story has of course rumbled on for several years now, but I don't really understand why there are little bits and pieces being released daily, can anyone explain?

The BBC news app seems to have Epstein-related stuff as their main news item every day. Will we ever get to the bottom of it all, or is this slow-release of information going to continue?

It’s because there are millions of documents/ pieces of information.

they need to be sorted, redacted (which is time consuming) and released onto the DOJ website which has already crashed multiple times even with them just uploading documents in dribbles and drabs

As PP mentioned, mountains of paper info which is being revealed as and when it becomes available.

Also that's how newspapers work (digital or print). They keep you interested so you keep buying the newspaper, and also to draw more people gradually into the story. If you had all the info all at once, you'd be overwhelmed and not digest it all, and some people would miss it entirely.

It’s not the media at all- they’re reporting it as quickly as they can get through the documents. The DOJ is releasing the documents in phases

The news guys have to read and interpret the millions of files. The DOJ just publish the pictures and pdfs. Some poor bugger will be trawling through them for months.

In the 'olden days' perhaps. AI can summarise now.

AI would certainly help but doesn’t know what’s the most newsworthy items in millions of previously unseen documents

Because Trump's name appears a lot more than they thought.

The Epstein Files Transparency Act stated all files should be released on 19th Dec.

How can it be more than they thought? The files belong to the DOJ, they’re the only ones who always knew what was in them!

bemoresloth · 25/12/2025 11:03

Ofcourse they knew exactly how often Trump appeared. The slow release is a distraction

They don't care about the victims.

LoudSnoringDog · 25/12/2025 11:21

I think the worst is yet to come re Andrew Mountbatten Windsor or whatever he is calling himself now

Pedallleur · 25/12/2025 12:39

They were kept back but lots of them and I'll presume only so many staff available. But probably more bad news for some people.

I did wonder whether it's some sort of distraction technique.

Or, are they preparing us for something really awful to come?

Maybe I'm overthinking, and it is just that they just have so many files to get through.

I thought they were redacting the faces of victims to protect their identity.

I am astounded that the following information from the files about Trump and Epstein allegedly raping a 13 year old girl is not headline news. See link:
