Anybody else due any minute (or anybody out there who has had a baby over Christmas)? I'm SCARED 😬

Basically that. I'm due any minute and have been doing everything to bring the labour on ahead of Christmas and none of it has worked.

I wouldn't care but our older son is three and a half and this is the first time he's properly understood Christmas. I'm scared I am going to ruin it for him by going into labour tonight or something 😬 I'm being very non-committal about when Father Christmas might turn up.

So please tell me your Christmas baby stories, or join me in impending Christmas parenthood!

Did baby come?

IMissTheLittleBluePackets · 27/12/2025 16:02

Sorry all - busy Christmas hosting family (crazy given the baby situation. I am a glutton for punishment).

No baby as of yet! It's driving me nuts now. I've been scheduled for a c section for Monday but I'm desperate to get her out naturally before that now that Christmas is out of the way. The clock is ticking down though 😬

Any advice gratefully received!

In the space of 3 weeks I have my youngest daughter’s birthday, Christmas and my eldest daughter’s birthday. December is an expensive fucking month and even I am sick of cake and junk food by the time we’re done! It is fun though.

I remember just deciding that I wouldn’t have a baby on Christmas Day, obviously I had no control over that but in my head I was just ‘nope, not happening’ 😆. Because of my due date and me knowing I would be induced at 38 weeks (I’m type 1 diabetic) I had a real fear of my kids ending up with the same birthday but thankfully we got a few weeks inbetween.

One piece of advice, you will get people saying ‘I’’ll them one big present for their birthday and Christmas’ Shut that down right away and don’t let them. If they don’t do it for kids with summer birthdays they don’t get to do it for your baby with a Christmas birthday.

Good luck OP, hopefully not much longer for you x

Good luck OP.

I was due in Christmas Eve thirteen years ago! I too was really anxious that baby would arrive on Christmas Day, but he made his entry five days later.

Finger's crossed your little one decides to come by themself in the next few days.

Update! Had the baby yesterday and am now in my hospital bed cooing at her!

Everything went incredibly smoothly and I'm amazed at how great I feel in comparison to how I felt after having ds3.

My only complaint is how noisy the ward was overnight. There was no attempt for midwives/ other patients to to lower the volume of their voices which drove me nuts overnight, but what can you do.

Hopefully, I'll be off home today, wish me luck!
