Tell me I'm not the only one whose Christmas food seems to be disappearing fast

I thought I had a nice full fridge and plenty of snacks, now most of it has gone already!

I’ve already had to replace 90% of the cheese because I ate it all.

KanesEyes · 23/12/2025 18:22

Some total bastard in my house has already eaten a box of mince pies 🤬

Oh hang on, that was me.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 23/12/2025 18:23

We have a bit of a cheese and cracker situation here, 2 days ago I was asked if we needed more and I said no, turns out I was wrong.

I'm the opposite! I hosted lunch for friends yesterday so we could exchange gifts. I bought a nice selection of buffet food ~ vol au vents, mini quiches & pies, some veggie items, dips, crisps and some mini chocolate cakes. Sadly one of my friends had just had some awful news and was, understandably, really upset. No-one ate very much and I now have a fridge full of food and absolutely no space for it in the freezer!

Mine is rapidly disappearing....which is great!
Im one of those who is totally over Christmas by the end of boxing day. I want the food gone and the decs down!

I'm going to have to go to the supermarket tomorrow as most the nice stuff has gone, some of it was a delivery where the use by date was before Christmas though. We should have restrained ourselves on the crisps and chocolate as that's rapidly dwindling too.

Everything is so expensive that I feel like I've done a huge shop, but actually it's not really that much. Hence the feeling that it's disappearing quickly.

I'm very annoyed with things being so short dated though - and even the things that are on date don't seem that fresh. Had dry malt loaf and stollen bites

menopausalmare · 23/12/2025 20:16

Hide it in the cupboard under the stairs.

paddleboardingmum · 23/12/2025 20:24

Well that's the thing I don't have much storage space, so mostly it's out and then people just see it and eat it 😀Same @HopingForTheBest25 maybe I feel like I got more than I did cos it all cost so much.
