Hi all, room is 3.84 x 3.58.
Height at a guess is 250cm.

Attached photo for wall height reference. Standard height door, so you can see the ceiling.

Can't get into the property to measure the height but have given allowance as from my guess, looks about 30 to 40cm.

Wall right side of the door is a fitted door to wall wardrobe. Adjoining wall from that is mostly a window. Then the third wall has a small built in cupboard.

So only one full wall.

Wallpaper:
Width - 52 cm
Pattern repeat - 64 cm
Match - Straight
Roll length - 10.05 metres.

Thanks.

Are you a professional decorator?

JacknDiane · 22/12/2025 21:23

Im sure B&Q website has a ready reckoner for wall paper

Bougainsillier · 22/12/2025 21:35

I’ve always reckoned on 3 lengths per roll,
then added 2 or 3 rolls and returned what I don’t need.
one tip… with such a pattern repeat you may waste a lot; try using 2 rolls at a time and taking off alternate rolls

No I'm not, guessing a professional would know.

Thank you. Not sure what all that means though. First time doing it.

well top tip I’m afraid is to gain entry and measure up. No one can advise you accurately based the available info.

Bougainsillier · 22/12/2025 21:55

Is it papered now? You could count the strips.. just the length from ceiling to skirting. If not just walk round the room with a roll and count how many widths you need. Full lengths. Then add on for round the window, above the door. I’ve papered lots of rooms over many years and only ever guessed. Usually a max of one roll to return

This poster is telling you that the pattern repeat on the wallpaper you've chosen is big, and because you've got to match up the next strip along to the pattern of the wallpaper you've chosen you might want to have two rolls of paper on the go at once to save waste (instead of starting a roll and using it all up before you open your next roll)

Thank you, can't gain access unfortunately and wallpaper is on sale 🙃.

Also won't paper till after the return period has expired, so trying not to waste/be short.
It's on sale now and I was reckoning 7 rolls or is that way off?

I’m not sure how anyone is meant to be able to work this out without knowing the dimensions of the room.

Take one strip off one roll, then the next off another roll. You might find there is less waste to cut off when matching the pattern

I've tried to give as much as possible. Frustrating as the wallpaper is on sale but can't gain access yet.
Also being discontinued to boot.

Thank you for this, can picture it more clearly now 🙏.

How much is the discount? Is it worth buying now and wasting rolls? Personally i would not plan decorating until you are in because you need to live in a property to properly work out how you want to decorate plus from personal experience, sometimes there’s urgent jobs that need doing on moving it (ripped out carpet on moving day being the owners dog was elderly and the stench of urine in one spot was not livable, and I’m not the only one I know to experience this, any cosmetic redecoration was put to one side in favour of carpet!)

Geneticsbunny · 23/12/2025 14:55

If you are doing one of the longer walls then assuming no windows, you will need 8 drops so that will be 3 rolls (each roll will give you 3 drops).
If its the shorter wall then you might get away with 7 drops but that would still need 3 rolls.

Each roll is down from £115 to £47 as it's being discontinued.

Place is luckily immaculate and no one actually living there full time till exchange date.

Thank you, it will be one longer wall and one shorter.
The shorter one is the one with the small built in cupboard.

I'd ordered 7 but have now added an extra one after the advice here about wastage.
I'm also mindful not to have wasted rolls, so hope it's not too many.

To make it even more complicated, I'll only be able to get it up after the return period has expired 😕.
