Mini chocolates size of Hershey miniatures

I have a book related gift to give to someone and would love to download the miniature book covers from Etsy to cover small chocolates.
I believe people do them as favours at weddings or little gifts for book clubs etc.

The issue is I have nowhere near me that does these Hershey bars and I can't think of something the same size. I think its too late for a delivery.

From the measurements I can see from Google the Green and Blacks minatures are not going to fit.

Has anyone done this with chocolates from the normal supermarkets here? Or got another idea? It doesn't have to be chocolate, it can be any sweetie I suppose. Or any other ideas?

Melt chocolate onto grease proof paper and they cut to your own size?

Breathmiller · 21/12/2025 10:04

Ah, thanks. That's an idea. Feels a bit too much like hard work at this point 😁 but maybe a last resort.

Its also made me realise I don't necessarily need to go for an already wrapped chocolate. Maybe I can use a bar of chocolate that the chunks are the same size as a Hershey miniature. And wrap first in a little bit of tin foil. Hmmm...food for thought.

Do I need to take my measuring tape to the supermarket like an eejit and sureptiously go around measuring chocolate bar segments?

I can't even buy loads of different kinds to try out and "have to" eat them if they don't as I am lactose intolerant. I suppose my son may not mind being that person though.

You don’t want Hershey chocolate anyway, unless you are giving this to an American or someone you hate. You have to have been brought up on Hersheys to like it.

Breathmiller · 21/12/2025 10:24

Ha! I did wonder this as I had heard bad things about Hersheys chocolate. I suppose its the visual of the gift rather than the chocolate itself. I'll keep looking for something.

I'm not great at visualising measurements so even if I could see a Hershey mini then I can find something similar. I might draw it out on a piece of paper and get an idea.

Maybe a chewy sweetie might work too.

Ooh. Google tells me that a square of Galaxy chocolate may be close enough.

Hmmm..so I downloaded them and printed them out. They are fab but I think a little bigger than a galaxy square.

Any other thoughts on a small bar of chocolate/sweet a little fatter but shorter than a Green & Blacks miniature?

I have a lindt advent calendar and it has little wrapped rectangles of chocolate for some days, they may be the right size. Could be expensive tho!

I've just checked Lindt Neapolitans. Thats another good shout. Thanks.

I used to have a Cadbury dispensing chocolate machine that had small bars about that size - no idea if you can still get them!

These?

@Thewalrusandthecarpenter . Funnily enough that dispenser came in to my mind. One if these gifts alongside Mr Frosty that I looked at longingly in the Littlewoods catalogue but Santa never saw fit to deliver.
