No hot water :(

I’m a newish leaseholder and I have ASD so apologies if this is asking stupid questions, just my head is overwhelmed atm and losing hot water and heating was the icing on the cake. I’m posting for basic advice because so stressed with life my heads not working (bad depression, redundancies at work, now this) - feel like I have to add disclaimer because some posters can be rude if you lack general knowledge.

I noticed a significant leak in my HIU cupboard in early November, thankfully it’s contained in this tiny cupboard room but has damaged carpet floor and caused significant black mould on the walls.

I reported it to my leaseholder company first, who then told me to contact their contractor company. I do as advised and the contractor company sends an engineer round 2 days after. He says a part of the HIU has corroded and new part will need ordering but this should take two weeks. I’m a paranoid catastrophiser so I had even asked will this definitely be done before Christmas shut down. He looked at me funny and just confirmed again should be sorted in two weeks so yes. I still had hot water at this point and first engineer was aware and said he can’t turn the thing off as I’ll be without hot water for two weeks so leak will have to continue until this new part arrives.

The company do not contact me again until Monday 15th December to say new part arrived and earliest time engineer could be sent out is Friday 19th morning.
Friday morning the engineer visit is delayed further and doesn’t end up arriving until 4.30pm. This second engineer (diff guy) says unable to fix the issue properly because missing one more thing, but says he isolated and put a cap on (I stupidly didn’t know what that meant). Doesn’t mention about turning my water off. Only 10 mins after he left I realised I no longer have any hot water. I have called the out of hours line to this contractor company four times since then but can’t get through. Then sent a formal email but no response. I then contact the emergency line for my leaseholder again to explain situation and they said they’d send someone out yesterday evening but not heard from them since. Have tried follow up message to leaseholder but nothing.

How long should it take to fix this? I can’t have baths, and don’t even have a gym membership to shower. I was able to get gym day pass just to shower but it only allows me to go during staffed hours and won’t be able to go much this week with Christmas shutdown

Deep breaths, I don't think there's a person alive who hasn't had this happen at some point. It's a pain in the arse but nothing you can do except wait for it to be fixed. Keep on at the landlord .

Do you have any source of heat? A plug in convector heater is a good shout, you can get them from argos , keep the door shut so you're only heating the room you're in.

For showers, boil a kettle and fill a bowl and stand in the bath and use a jug to wash yourself.

Thank you, I’ve mostly managed to cope okay-ish but still down that no resolution in sigh now over a week later

I thought no hot water/heating is classed as an emergency but the company doesn’t seem to care at all, today they just told me to call first thing on Monday morning as the out of hours team can’t do anything. No guarantee it will be fixed on Monday either just told to call then

I’ve had to pay for gym day passes on hair wash days and I’m on a low income

does anyone know if this is something worth putting in a formal complaint in for? I’m just not sure if this is normal behaviour from leaseholder and contractor company, or if I’m being unreasonable to expect things to be fixed sooner? The service charges are very high too
