7.5 month old cat missing - so worried

He had shown very little interest in going out - been out a couple of times with me in the garden and pretty much gone straight in. Also gone out alone maybe twice unnoticed but been back within 20 mins or so and I don't think left the garden. I have another cat and hadn't realised today that new cat had access to garden and he had probably been gone around 45 mins before I noticed. Now been gone probably 90 minutes. Been calling and calling and nothing. Definitely not in the garden. I've walked around the streets but nothing. The back garden has fences and only really has access to other back gardens on other streets so had to walk near where he must be. I'm so worried.

First of all breathe; 90 minutes is not that long, he could just be so excited to explore he's not wanting to come back.

If he isn't back soon then start posting on local groups on social media, especially helpful if you have good photos of him. Ask neighnours to check sheds/garages.

Is he microchipped and neutered?

Oh, no. Can you ask your neighbours to check any outbuildings he might have got into? Have you checked your house thoroughly in case he's got behind a kitchen unit or similar (this happened with one of mine, he reappeared in the kitchen after we'd been walking the neighbourhood calling him).

Hoping he turns up soon Flowers

I set off for another walk after posting and he appeared from across the road - so the front way. Looked a bit surprised to see me there as he was making his way down the side return! I don't know why I'm surprised as he's the third cat I've had here and they obviously all find their way from the back to the front. Cat flap is now shut for the night!

Oh I'm so happy to hear this! Yes big cuddles for your little one!
I saw your post earlier and wanted to check and see if you'd found him, so I'm so happy for you both!
