Active and perimenopause

Hi, is anyone else going through peri, who are also very active? I’m really struggling!

I’m 42 in Jan. My most intensive sports are running and climbing.

I usually time my load and de load around my period. Knowing when to ease off and when to try hard.

But my Kate 3 cycles have been out of whack! 3 months ago I was 10 days late, last month was normal but then this month I’m currently 5 days late.

I taper about 5 days before my period, until the day of my period. But then obviously… with being late I want to crack on with trying hard, but mentally, hormonally don’t feel it.

It’s really messing with me and my gains!

Anyone going through similar, or experienced similar?

When I was weight training I'd just crack on regardless of where I was in my cycle. If I felt while doing it that I didn't have the energy to push as hard (usually it just felt harder) then I'd ease back. But I was working with a PT who'd usually encourage me to push more than I thought - maybe a PT?

Thanks. I’m not a gym goer, so a PT wouldn’t work. But potentially look at some coaching.

I’m just struggling with mentally expecting it to happen, then having extended drop in energy
