Weird exhaustion and aches, no other symptoms- anyone else?

Feeling rather sorry for myself at the moment as I have some weird virus, I assume, which is just making me SO exhausted. I can only do stuff for about 30-45 mins at a time before having to sit down, just feeling cripplingly exhausted. My body is aching all over and feels kind of ‘fragile’ but I don’t have any other flu symptoms- no cough, no runny nose, no temperature. It’s so strange and unpleasant! Has anyone else had this?

How old are you? Relevant question.

BarbaraVineFan · 18/12/2025 21:56

Actually I did have another symptom overnight- an upset stomach- but it seems to have settled now.

46 eh? Welcome to perimenopause Grin

ReadySaltedSquares · 18/12/2025 22:03

I feel like this during certain stages of my cycle. I have PMDD, but think peri has made it worse.

BarbaraVineFan · 18/12/2025 22:04

hmm, not sure it is perimenopause- it definitely feels as though I’m ill IYKWIM. A bit like flu but without the cold symptoms.

It’ll be the start of a crap virus. Take a shit load of vitamin c and zinc and cancel your plans. Drink copiously, wallow endlessly and it will pass.

Renamed · 18/12/2025 22:28

YES I’ve just had this, also dizzy/ light headed, lasted a week! GP checked heart, lungs, BP all fine. Having some bloods in case of vitamin deficiency. I was wondering if it is a post viral thing, or maybe ear infection. Horrible. Sympathies.

watermelonsugar11 · 18/12/2025 22:46

Yes I’m exactly like this right now! Have been for the past 5 days. Only other symptom that has happened is a painful back, oh and I vomited a few times this morning. Apart from that it’s been none stop sleeping and aching?!

Have you had a flu vaccination? I’ve been vaccinated and then had this for weeks - I think it’s maybe a mild version of the flu that’s going around. I was totally exhausted, and also started to get awful nausea and lost my appetite. Had a mild sore throat and runny nose for a little bit but the fatigue and sickness were the main things. I finally started feeling normal again last week - after about 4-5 weeks!

EmeraldRoulette · 19/12/2025 10:40

It's a bug, I think you've caught a mild version

rest up and I hope you feel better 💐

Yes, I agree. I had this on and off for weeks. Time to rest. Hopefully you’ll feel better soon.
