Christmas gift for cleaner

For those who have a cleaner, how much do you give them as a Christmas bonus? I have the same dilemma every year and I don't remember what I do from one year to the next. Is 2 weeks pay and a box of chocolates about right?

That's what I have done this year. Well, the lady who runs the cleaning company sends two cleaners, so they've each got a week's pay and a box of chocs.

2 weeks pay is v good I'd say

I give mine 1 week

Don’t know what we would do without ‘Treasure’.

Any week with a bank holiday, we pay her usual without any expectation she will come, then pay usual rates for any days she comes to us.

more of a housekeeper, extra help for elderly DH (collecting prescriptions, collect/ drop off laundry and dry cleaning, opening the garage door when I forget etc.

if she asked me to stand on my head, I would. It’s not come to it yet, she gets on really well with DH as they are both very shy.

Mine is off for 2 weeks. They don’t charge whilst they’re off but keeping the payment going and left a bottle of bubbles each.

I used to be a professional cleaner, self employed. Most clients gave me a minimum of 2 weeks pay as well as gifts like M&S food hampers, wine etc.

Sometimes I've given chocs and a bottle of wine. I don't pay if they don't come, they work for themselves and set their prices to cover holidays.
