Where do you buy your everyday jewellery from?

I need some new everyday jewellery such as basic hoops, a simple necklace etc that won't break the bank but is good quality too.

Where are we all shopping? Are there any hidden gems you can recommend?

Oliver Bonas, Astrid & Miju, Moniker Vinader?

I bought some nice earrings from Amazon, and the quality is really good at a reasonable price. The brand is Philip Jones.

This will sound snooty but I only have good quality jewelry and that’s what I wear every day. I have one or two pieces that rarely come out of the safe, but otherwise everything is worn. What’s the point of having it otherwise? It’s bit like having “best” clothes - what’s the point? Buy the best you can afford and wear it!

All to say: buy simple hoops but excellent quality ones which will last a lifetime and wear them. Go to a reputable jeweler.

As above

OhDear111 · 18/12/2025 16:58

I don’t buy gold plated or silver jewellery. I usually wear 18 ct gold and often antique or heavily reduced new jewellery - Annoushka at Bicester village. Buy well and it lasts a lifetime.

I'm upgrading my jewellery one piece at a time. I started with all my cartilage piercings which are all now 9ct gold.

My main earrings, necklace and rings are also gold now although I have several relly nice silver pieces.

I wear a lot less costume jewellery these days!

I also like small jewellers who make their own stuff, like:
https://www.clareelizabethkilgour.co.uk/ (pretty cheap!)
https://www.emilynixon.com (much more expensive)

But I also buy second hand now and have had a necklace, earrings and a couple of rings from:

I’m another who wears the same good quality jewellery every day. I built it up over the years and have had some for a couple of decades. Just a very small range of earrings- hoops, pearls, diamond studs, the same (Mikimoto) necklace everyday. I’m very boring, but they do go with everything.

A local reputable jeweller is a great shout. Much better value than the big brands.

I bought a bracelet from Monica Vinander and was really disappointed. Bright, brassy and cheap looking. Maybe I got unlucky though?

I actually think all these brands sell beautiful junk.
It's all plating which is gone in months if not weeks.

I have some nice pieces from messika and also just made by jewelers

Dower and Hall are sold by John Lewis. Everyday but not that interesting,

She didn’t ask for ‘interesting’, but ‘everyday’.

Vinted
eBay

Really nice not to contribute to resource extraction and energy intensive manufacturing and transport logistics by buying second hand and vintage pieces.

claracluck1978 · 18/12/2025 19:44

Try a local auction house.

Nearly all of my jewellery is from auctions & for everyday staples its perfect way to buy. I’ve bought a diamond ring and had it it remodelled in to diamond earstuds for half the price of a pair from a mediocre jewellers.
Gold is usually sold for its intrinsic value rather than with huge mark ups. So a bracelet that would be £1000 in the jewellers may be £500 at auction.
My engagement ring is a 1920s ruby and diamond three stone that we could never have afforded to buy retail and my eternity band is the same.

i only wear gold but every day I wear at least earrings, necklace, bracelet, bangles and four rings.

disclaimer: I’m both an auctioneer and a magpie!

Bric a brac stalls.

purplecorkheart · 18/12/2025 19:49

I have a few pieces that were somewhat expensive but I wear all the time. Otherwise I find that often small independent jewellery shops often have lovely pieces that can be worn everyday and will not break the Bank. I am in Ireland though and there is nearly always a independent jeweller in most medium/large town.

Joeydoesntsharefood25 · 18/12/2025 19:51

I got mine from Solace as I can only wear hypoallergenic metals and I never have to take my earrings out.

piscofrisco · 18/12/2025 20:02

Also try this little online lady Atlas of Dreams (she also has a shop in Chester)

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 18/12/2025 20:19

I get loads of bits and pieces from Alyssa Smith. I usually wear the same necklace but like to change my bracelets and earrings

forgetfullarkspur · 18/12/2025 20:31

Shop independent if you can!
https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/SilverRainSilver has some absolutely beautiful, simple, everyday bits.

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 18/12/2025 20:38

@claracluck1978that’s such a lovely thing to do, I’m adding that to my list when I’m next looking for jewellery!

@SalmonOnFinnCrisptotally get it, I’ve got bits that I wear daily that have aged well for the price, to be fair I’ve got earrings from Amazon that seem to be bomb proof, wear them daily for months and no noticeable wearing.
