Nah, it's North London.

[South Londoner here.]

ShyMaryEllen · 18/12/2025 11:05

I don't know London well, and have never wanted to live there, but the Omaze London houses feel like a good opportunity to rent out my house in the sticks for a year or two and live the Omaze one, then come home, sell the London house and give the proceeds to my (adult) children. During the London residence there are enough rooms to have friends stay for free holidays, so I think it would be fun. I'm in.

Why do they never show wardrobes? I was about to complain about all the open shelving everywhere (including in the bedrooms) but the floorplan shows that at least two of the bedrooms have walk-in wardrobes. I know Omaze is not an estate agent, but the lack of storage and all the outside furniture always puts me off the houses they feature, and half the time it's misleading. the study is great though. Think of all the paperwork you could lose in so many cupboards 😎

I like it. Don’t know how realistic the value is but pics seem lovely.

beguilingeyes · 18/12/2025 11:53

I don't like it very much. I don't see how it's worth £5m. This would be an immediate sell for me.
I'm still pining for that one that was in Borough Market.

MeanwhileTime · 18/12/2025 13:02

Doe anyone know exactly where it is? I know the area but am wondering what road it’s on.

CatherinedeBourgh · 18/12/2025 13:08

They don't actually give you the address? That's bonkers! Makes an enormous difference to the desirability of the property.

If it’s 0.5 miles from Kilburn station and roughly 1 mile from both Q Park and W Hampstead, wouldn’t it be nearer Cricklewood? I think we all know what “independent spirit” is estate-agent speak for 😂 (not knocking it, worked many years in QP and Kilburn but Shoot-Up Hill end is a little more lively, let’s say).

They probably would if it was desirable - it’s near Queens Park and West Hampstead but they don’t exactly say where.

Someone on here will know ...

TheSweetestCon · 18/12/2025 14:40

Yes please thank you.

Lived some of my happiest years in that part of London (well, West Hampstead to be exact) and would LOVE to be able to move back.

I'm not bowled over by the stark b&w facade but I cou ld find a way to live with it. Inside looks lovely, and I like the garden, perfect size for two adults and no kids!

TheSweetestCon · 18/12/2025 14:58

My guess is it's on one of the streets on the west side of Kilburn High Road / Shoot Up Hill. There are some turrety detached houses on eg Mapesbury Road. Need to scour Rightmove!

IwasOmazed · 18/12/2025 15:05

12 Coverdale Road, NW2

I was close!!

damemaggiescurledupperlip · 18/12/2025 15:25

H'm Garden much more East-facing on Rightmove than the Omaze floorplan shows, by my amateur reading.

TheSweetestCon · 18/12/2025 15:28

It's in a good spot for transport links and you do have West Hampstead etc very close, but it's not the most inspiring of areas now I can see exactly where it is.

Definitely not worth £5 million, but they've done a nice job on it. I wouldn't say no, regardless, but it doesn't fill me with excitement.

It's close to my old local, The Alliance, though!

Peridot1 · 18/12/2025 15:33

Ooh we used to live very close to there. Not sure I’d want to live there again full time but could certainly use it as a London pad for a while and then sell. Or more likely DS would think he could have it!

jay55 · 18/12/2025 15:49

It’s not a fancy special house, a bit disappointing. I mean I’d happily win and sell and buy something that suits me but with most the others I’d enjoy holidaying in them first.

DiscoHippo · 18/12/2025 15:52

The original property looked like Gru’s house.

I think it’s got a stunning interior and Omaze has done a really good job with it, but it just highlights the bonkers property market. If I won it, I’d definitely sell it

A penny for your thoughts @Peridot1 ? Interested in what you didn't like about the area, just in case I win this house : )

Peridot1 · 18/12/2025 16:15

@thepragmatic - Well it was a very long time ago….. now DH had bought his first flat and I moved in. In 1988. I wouldn’t say I disliked living there but I’m a lot older now and although I like visiting London I am happy in my little village in Hampshire. I think I’d find actually living in London exhausting.

When we sold we were in negative equity and we do sometimes look at sold prices now for his old flat and almost cry. And everyone thought prices were high then.

I liked that the transport links were so good. I liked West Hampstead even if we really lived in Cricklewood. I also liked being able to buy Irish things in Cricklewood as I’m Irish! Ditto Kilburn obviously.

Thanks for your insights @Peridot1 Lol at today's property prices! I fully get your reasons for not wanting to live full time in London (town mouse, country mouse etc.). Should I win, you are welcome to drop by when you visit the local area. Truth be told, I may keep it as a short-term let (if possible) and live away from London.

MaturingCheeseball · 18/12/2025 16:23

What’s the mansion tax on this one? 😭

Peridot1 · 18/12/2025 17:19

Well that’s very nice of you @thepragmatic but as I am going to win you can visit me! 😜
