Hoping to get it all done today. I just finished Blue Lights and am missing it so much! I want something that grabs me like that. Normally I watch a Xmas movie while wrapping but I’m feeling more box setty.

Prefer non American but open to anything gripping! Hope you’re all doing ok in Christmas land…

Blue Lights is 10/10! Similar I’ve enjoyed are Happy Valley/Line Of Duty/Trigger Point. Or I found Criminal (Netflix) similarly grabby. Happy wrapping!

We downloaded Frauds on itvx Suranne jones and jodie whitaker running about Spain being con artists. It was good and not to brain taxing.

Sooo good - I actually feel like I am missing the characters and wondering how they are 😂

But it was utter shit in comparison with Blue Lights, which is up there with Happy Valley and Line of Duty.

Unforgotten is really good, OP, and I usually hate cold-case stories.

If you want something a bit more lighweight, but still really well-written, The Outlaws by Stephen Merchant is very funny but also really moving, with great characters, and although the storyline is really ridiculous, it is also just about plausible, whereas Frauds was so lazily written.

If you have Apple TV, Down Cemetery Road is quite good.

Yes it wasn't the same as the above but it was a decent enough watch. I thought a bit silly in places but not too taxing for wrapping.

Trigger point is brilliant if you haven’t seen that, v similar to Blue Lights etc. Riot Women is by the same writer as Happy Valley and I loved that. I’ve just finished Coldwater on ITV and really enjoyed

Oooh I’ve realised I haven’t watched line of duty - think I’ve seen a few episodes when DH was watching it but can’t remember much. I thought line of duty was the one about the guard minding the politician, that was good. Am excited! (But hope I don’t get so gripped I can’t wrap, thanks for the thoughtfulness about that in your recommendations everyone!! I’ll keep some of them in my pocket.

Also love Happy Valley and Riot Women - missed those characters too when I finished them…

OMG! You haven't seen Line of Duty? I am SO jealous of you. Don't expect to get much wrapping done...🎁

I know it’s a movie but Ladies in Black is a Christmas delight.
