Mines been on constantly for about a month. And it's 12yrs old. You'll be fine.

I think it comes down to what brand (is it a reliable brand you know or something off Amazon you haven’t heard of before), have you got modern circuit breakers and personal attitudes to risk. I leave all kinds of things on but my parents never will. The reason i mentioned brands is that imported goods are not always certified and tested to such a high level of at all, you can’t even trust a CE mark as they can be faked, I’d trust a genuine brand but not cheaper imports from far east companies

Mine would never dry anything if it was off when I was out! I leave it on all the time.

It's as risky as any other electrical appliance being left on.

vanillalattes · 16/12/2025 14:38

It would honestly never occur to me to turn it off. Ours is one while we're at work everyday.

UtterlyOtterly · 16/12/2025 14:49

I wouldn't but I'm probably over cautious. It does depend on your wiring, circuit breakers etc though.

Thanks everyone.

I'm in rented accommodation and electrics are checked yearly so should be ok!

I don’t. I don’t leave any electrical appliances on when I’m out unless I’ve just nipped to the shops.

ViciousCurrentBun · 16/12/2025 18:58

I have just got one and I just stick it on for a couple of hours, I wouldn’t but I’m cautious.

We leave ours on all the time

My dribuddi went on fire last week- good job I was home! I wouldn’t risk it! Mine was only 2 years old
