What’s this movie?

I’ve been trying to find a movie this morning, I thought it was Inheritance (a European one not the other one) on Netflix but I’ve just started it and it’s not.

it’s a family gathering at a mansion, very wealthy and they mostly arrive by helicopter.

I think the patriarch dies but he might have already and he leaves his estate to a surviving family member.

They all start dying via his traps and it turns out he’s a famous killer and the eldest son was there for the murders as a child.

It has an Agatha Christie feel to it at the beginning a then becomes and comedy horror type.

Ring any bells?

Would have been Netflix or Prime but I though Netflix. I’m sure it had an AC type name! I’m sure I watched it last autumn.

I’m fairly sure it’s European and dubbed into English.

that is probably Inheritance (Spadek, 2024), the Polish black-comedy/mystery that Netflix released in June 2024. It’s a European, dubbed-into-English Netflix movie about a dysfunctional family who reunite at a rich uncle’s mansion to sort out an inheritance — and he’s left them a final “game” of puzzles inside the house

thanks but no, thats what I thought it was and am watching now but realised it wasn’t the one I thought it was so now trying to find that one.

it’s like a dark version of Inheritance!

Ready or Not (2019) — a darker, horror-comedy take that fits a lot of your other details

  • Wealthy family, mansion, a “game” that turns deadly, family members are picked off, tonal shift from mystery/irony to violent comedy-horror. Crucially, the film opens with a childhood scene where family members (including a son) are involved in a past murder — which matches your memory of the eldest son being there as a child

Thank you! But no, I love Ready or Not and it’s definitely not that either.

in this case the rest of the family aren’t in on it

The annoying thing is I know exactly what you're talking about but can't remember what it's called 😭 I'll have a think and get back if I remember

Hereforthedramaz · 14/12/2025 09:52

@Devilsmommylol thank you!
it’s really annoying me and I can’t get the right search terms for googling to help!

  1. Was the killer revealed early, or only at the end?
  2. Any specific trap you remember (e.g., doors locking, puzzles, physical booby traps)?
  3. What language were people speaking originally (your best guess)?
  4. About how long was the movie (90 min? 2 hrs?)?
  5. Any actors you recognize (even vaguely)?

Dangerous Game: The Legacy Murders ?

Hereforthedramaz · 14/12/2025 10:22

So yes I can remember a few deaths.

I know the eldest son is hanged jumping over a mezzanine floor rail.

one of the other sons is burned/ heated to death in a laboratory.

it’s the grand daughter who survives, I’m fairly sure she shows she has his gene for violence at the end by killing or at-least not helping the other last survivor who was a woman I think.

at the very end she (or the other lady) is chased by dogs and hides in a well.

The flash backs are to the dead patriarch taking women in the 70s with the son in the back seat and then I think they show him actually helping abduct the ladies.

Well that sounds cheerful

Check your Netflix viewing history (Account → Profile & Parental Controls → Viewing activity). If you started it on Netflix UK, the exact title will show
