Best M&S Goodies

Seems everyone has finally discovered just how good the M&S Big Mix is as it’s been sold out on Ocado every week for months 😭 so tomorrow I’m trekking to the big food hall to hunt them down irl. Thinking I might as well do a general Christmas treat shop whilst I’m there (the best sort of shop imo!).

Any recommendations?

Sweet or savoury! crisps? Nuts? Fancy chutney?

Can be fresh/ frozen too, why not! Any good party food? puds?

Only criteria is that it’s delicious!!

Big mix is a big load of sugary, samey crap so you may have dodged a bullet.

The garlic bread is amazing; either the £4/6 one in the chiller or the one in the freezer by the bakery.

Most of their chutneys and jams are quite nice.

Salted pitta chips, Swiss chocolate clouds, the posh Kievs if you can't be arsed to cook (their gastro range), layered dips, cook range chicken with pesto and sundried tomatoes, milk chocolate freshly baked cookies. Basically anything. Their food is better than any other supermarket.

I disagree. The Big Mix is lovely. The chocolate and fillings are much nicer than the usual suspects and every single one got eaten in this house.

Gingerbread and white chocolate cookies in the bakery bit
layered dips and the feta dip
they had Longley farm chive cottage cheese in
squirty chocolate whipped cream
stain remover wipes are excellent (their whole cleaning range is good)
bagel seasoning

Oh and the autumn crisp grapes! They’re huge and crunchy

ExperiencedTeacher · 13/12/2025 22:41

The Swiss chocolate clouds are incredible!

M&S Baked Beans 50p as good as Heinz
70p for kg of carrots
3 for £12 on spicy squid
& everything else is amazing but expensive!!

Sacrilege!! I lived for them last Christmas, just haven’t managed to get any this year. I think they’re SO much nicer than QS/ Roses etc!

but otherwise great shouts Grin

been meaning to try those pitta chips , I saw someone online dipping them in some kind of M&S Kiev dip? Exactly the sort of activity I want to be partaking in.

Cherry & amaretto stollen bites.

blankcanvas3 · 13/12/2025 23:01

The fish pie is the best. I eat it as often as I can. The cinnamon and chocolate tortilla things they have in for Christmas are gorgeous, I’ve bought 3 packs this week because I can’t stop snacking on them. I love their strawberries though out of season now. The maple butter is amazing. The chicken kiev dip is to die for. Off to do an M&S order now 😂

Davros · 13/12/2025 23:15

I really want an Arctic Colin but my freezer is fucked. I hope they still have them when I finally get it sorted.
Halloumi in blankets is gorgeous, maple bacon combo mix (crisps), smoked salmon pate with bits of salmon on top mmmmmm

Chicken and root veg soup - in the chilled section
Baked beans - I no longer buy Heinz
Cheddar with truffle - in a white wax
Prawns pil pil - in the tapas/dips section
Ham and cheese toastie - usually near the pizzas
Chicken Caesar dip
Their smaller pizzas, ham & mushroom, chicken pesto, cheaper than Pizza Express
Their fruit and veg is usually really good

Me too. The nicest chocolates for christmas. Far better than the drab crap which Lack Of Quality Street has become.

Their Tutti-frutti grapes are the nicest grapes I've ever tasted
