Does anyone else find to hard to relax and stay at home all day with children about?
My boys are 5 and 9. 9 ye old would happily play video games all day (I’ve never allowed this before anyone comes for me!!!), my 5 yr old is a ball of energy and wants to be exploring an playing all the time.

what does a lazy day at home look like for you? And how do you avoid screens in this time!

DS1 (9) would get restless spending the whole day indoors but DS2 (5) is a calmer personality and can have a lazy day indoors.

We had one today (not DS1 he had football training in the morning), but DS2 watched a bit of tv in the morning, read his school reading book, spent most of the day playing with his godzillas, played for an hour with the ipad (it's DMs he doesn't get to use it every day - they popped round to help me hang curtains), then in the evening we decorated the Christmas tree.

DS1 is only really calm in the evenings, he likes to help me bake or watch house shows with me.

We are out almost every weekend but we've deliberately introduced some "at home" days every few months just to chill out and make use of toys and games they have. There's usually lots of things to do like craft kits we've been given, Legi, board games, baking, and books to look at together. My youngest is 3 but is fine being at home all day (we have 5 flights of stairs and gymnastics equipment which keeps her active).
