Middle of November, so about 4 weeks ago, I came down with a horrible throat/head/ears/aching limbs thing, spent 3 days sleeping and then 3 weeks coughing. The rest of the family escaped it at the time. My cough had only just started to clear up at the beginning of this week, when my teenager developed a fever and sore throat and has been off school since (very unusual for him) and is generally miserable, croaky, and flopsy. Now DP and my older child (young adult) have got it, and they're both really not well and have had to be off work.
My lingering cough has worsened slightly (it's also gone from tickly to being productive again), I feel quite tired, and I woke up in the middle of last night absolutely drenched in sweat. But I'm pretty much fine and functional, fortunately really as everyone else needs looking after!
Anyway I've got a really important week at work next week (having to take time off would be a massive issue, and if I do get as unwell as my family currently are then I would definitely have to take time off) and can't stop musing on whether I'm about to come down with this latest bug or whether I'm going to escape it, presumably as it's similar to what I had so recently! I definitely feel like I'm fighting something off iyswim. Obviously there's no real way to know but I do find it interesting how things spread, none of my family got ill last month when I was ill and yet now they're all coughing all over me and I seem ok so far...!
