Help me find a phone for my mum!

Decided to get my mum a new mobile for Xmas. She's mid 70s, but not great with technology. I'm basically looking for a phone that is easy to use, that she can easily find how to get on the internet/Facebook/messages/WhatsApp as that is all she will use it for!
Any recommendations??

Buy an entry level iPhone and put it into accessibility mode. It will only show the apps you choose and the icons are all bigger.
It’s for people with disabilities or who are not familiar with technology

I would also go for whatever iPhone fits the budget. We have always bought 6s’s for the children to have before they are ready for proper phones. They are easy to use, have find my phone options and are cheap if bought reconditioned

I agree with the pp, an IPhone in accessibility mode would be perfect and can be customised as you wish.

Honestly? I’d go for an older iPhone like the iPhone 6. My mum really, really struggled with tech. We wasted so much money on big button phones, ‘simple’ phones, eventually I got her an iPhone 5 SE, spent a about an hour getting her to practice phoning me, and about an hour getting her to message me. I’d ring and or send daily texts until it had become well practiced and second nature. I then got her a ‘more modern’ one (iPhone 6) and set up online banking and WhatsApp. She took to both really quickly, oh yeh she loved having a camera, and seeing photos of the kids, particularly throughout lockdown! This was a woman who used to go ballistic if anyone dared change her radio station, because she couldn’t retune it!! (She didn’t really go ballistic because she was a wonderful and very loving mum, although she could be a bit scary if you fiddled with radio knobs!)

Thank you!!! I hadn't considered an iPhone & these were exactly the kind of suggestions I was after!
