Whereabouts are you for dinner?

PacificState · 12/12/2025 23:04

Whereabouts are you planning to be for dinner?

Obvious suggestion: wander through the pretty bits of the West End looking at the lights (Covent Garden/Seven Dials, or Mayfair/Piccadilly) and then head for cocktails/coffee at the bar at the Riding House Cafe or Hawksmoor on Air Street

If you’re a bit further east, the Priory of St John in Clerkenwell usually has a good Christmas display, and the Zetter Townhouse is a lovely place for a late night drink

Eggybreadwithnuts · 12/12/2025 23:13

Not really drinkers. Around Covent Garden

Ronnie's for the late night show?

PacificState · 12/12/2025 23:26

There’s the Prince Charles cinema on Leicester Square, a nice old independent, if you fancy a late night flick?

Mosey over to Hyde Park and have a look at Winter Wonderland (not sure what time it closes)

Take a Thames Clipper trip from Embankment to Tower Bridge and walk back along the South Bank - will still be busy that time of night

Have a look to see if there are any late-evening events happening at the Royal Festival Hall?

Comedy club?

PacificState · 12/12/2025 23:28

Bowling in Bloomsbury bloomsburybowling.com/

Another vote for Comedy club and a steak restaurant - can recommend Flat Iron or Black & Blue both reasonable for steak restaurants (relative to others!) . There’s a pub in Camden that is fun less theatre more room above pub or The Comedy Store usually do 2 stand-up nights on a Saturday highly recommend.

Any comedy or jazz club. Wander from Covent Garden to the South Bank or to Chinatown or Soho. Hot chocs at any nice hotel bar. Ice skating at Somerset House. A nightclub. Just general walking about and taking in the atmosphere.

Comedy club sounds good

Flight club for darts is fun. Or there is often comedy around Leicester square or on the strand.
