Oh Ferrero Rondnoir. Why do you make me work so hard?

I am the lucky recipient of a Ferrero Rocher advent calendar. I manage to wait until the end of each working day before I delve into my correct little window. I am beginning to somewhat dread (a huge over reaction) getting the little balls of joy that are the Ferrero Rondnoir.
I just can't get into the annoying little fuckers (another huge over reaction).
I accept I am somewhat challenged by having arthritic fingers, but why have they made life so hard for me. (Over reaction statement number 3).
The original one unwraps like normal unwrappy thing.
Not the Rondnoir. The twat.
The other coconutty one is the same.
I have to rip it apart showering bits everywhere while I swear at it.
I feel much better now for whinging about though!

Here's the picture of the other side. I videoed my incompetent effort at getting into it, but you will be delighted to hear, MN won't let me post it.

Well no one at all will care that I have finally finished all of the challengingly wrapped balls of joy.
I got the scissors to them in the end.
I will have 11 months to get over it

I’ve had that calendar before and I loved those dark ones, they’re worth the effort! I hated the coconut ones though so getting those was a huge disappointment,

OneWildandWonderfulLife · 28/12/2025 11:39

I just have to check, you have tried peeling off the paper case first, and then the top wrapper should just fall off? I know it sounds like madness to check, but I do know someone who was taking a pair of scissors to get into them all!Grin

I agree. I missed a few days openings and then had 2 of the coconut shower of shavings. Oh the disappointment (and the mess!)

I don't know what you mean @OneWildandWonderfulLife ? I couldn't separate the metallic wrap from the plastic base. They aren't wrapped in the same way as the normal Ferrero Rocher where the foil wrapped sphere of loveliness can just be taken off the paper base and then the foil unwraps.
They were definitely playing hard to get

I've also encountered this before in a box of mixed Ferrero chocolates. I don't know why the dark / white aren't designed the same as the originals and are instead so much harder to open!

Also the coconut ones are my favourites and it makes me sad when I loose bits, it reminds me of those trick cards you cam buy people that shower them with confetti on opening.

The coconut ones are your favourite @VerityUnreasonble 😱. Next you will be telling us that you like the Bounty in celebrations?!

@JustLetMeAtIterrrm since I'm confessing sins here, yes... but I'm a great person to share things with! (Malteaser celebrations are best, followed by galaxy caramel, but I will absolutely hoover up all the poor neglected bountys)

”Not the Rondnoir. The twat.”

😂

Surely not even the milky way @VerityUnreasonble?

Hang on, what have you got against milky ways? Maybe all the celebrations should be mine just to be on the safe side.

You can get bars of Raffello, which are much easier to eat, although less sprinkly bits. Maybe next advent you could just get 24 bars of Ferrero?

JustLetMeAtIt · 30/12/2025 21:12

Milky ways are dull baby chocolate bars (if you can stretch to call them that)
Too sweet and not enough chocolate.
I will though, force myself to eat them if I have no choice and face starvation, or I'm just a bit peckish
