Recommend me a cordless vacuum that is NOT a Dyson

I have got a Dyson V10 and I am so sick of bits of it breaking over the five years I have had it.

Constantly getting blocked or being a pain in the arse.

The latest bit that needs replacing is £80 for the genuine part from dyson but it's out of stock anyway.

I've had enough! Please recommend me your alternative cordless vacuum.

It needs to be light as I get an achy shoulder at times, and under £300.

Please especially reply if you have had a V10 and have a direct comparison!

Following as I need one too, DO NOT GET A HETTY, they’re heavy and shite!

Flatbellyfella · 12/12/2025 10:44

Shark are very good.

LemonNLime · 12/12/2025 10:48

I love mine, it’s the Samsung Bespoke Jet, admittedly I went for one with an extra battery but that’s due how much I need to vacuum

I gave up with mine and got a small Miele corded one. No more anaemic suction!

TheLilacStork · 12/12/2025 10:51

Shark and Hoover

TooTiredToType77 · 12/12/2025 10:57

Miele. Love it. Very powerful

Nat6999 · 12/12/2025 10:58

I bought my mum a Gtech Air Ram 2, it is amazing, so light, good suction, gets right up to skirting boards & in corners, good battery life, I can go right through the whole house & still have over half a battery left, I'm disabled & it is light enough for me to take upstairs on the stairlift easily. I got it on special offer on Tiktok shop for £139 instead of £229 in the shops.

helpfulperson · 12/12/2025 11:00

I got the bush one from argos for around £125. Works well, easy to clean out, copes with cat hair and my long hair. And when it stops working it is cheap to replace.

TigerRag · 12/12/2025 11:05

I have a Vax Pace

Scrabblingabout · 12/12/2025 11:10

Anyone had a Dyson v8 or V-10 before whatever they have now who can say for sure it is better for them?

I need one too OP. So far I've got to:
Miele cordless, but its dust caddy is smaller and its heavier than a Henry
Cordless Henry- needs bags, but larger dust caddy and lighter than the Miele

Miele do have a factory outlet and stock changes daily.

I then found Uninell. I've never heard of the brand, but the reviews look excellent and its also hairwrap which I want. I put a post up a few weeks ago asking if anyone had one- but got no replies. I need to compare the dust caddy size/weight etc before commiting.

KarmenPQZ · 12/12/2025 11:17

Nothing to add but shameless watching.
Our Dyson v8 I’ve tolerated for 5+ years but it’s pretty crap for corners and edges and also frequently gives me pinch blood blisters for how the stick attaches.

can’t believe I’ve put up with it as long as I have to be honest. I’m liking the sound of the one upthread from @Nat6999 (Gtech? brand I haven’t heard if) but for corners/edges

3catsandcounting · 12/12/2025 11:24

I want to love my Shark Cordless Liftaway, but in reality, it’s pathetic. Clogs up constantly, battery runs out fairly quickly. On the upside, Shark customer services are great!

reluctantbrit · 12/12/2025 11:47

We have a Samsung. Love it but the battery life is not great so it depends on your circumstances.

We have mainly wooden flooring and no pets or small children. The long-hair daughter is at uni and I can see a change how much we dust we are creating.

I will never go back to a corded one.

purser25 · 12/12/2025 18:23

I like Gtech I always order direct from them

I had high hopes for the Miele but it was too heavy so I sent it back.

Now ordered a Samsung. Let's see...

I agree. I inherited my Mum’s Gtech and it’s by far the best vaccuum cleaner I’ve ever had. I’ve also got a little handheld Gtech vaccuum, which is really good too.

househelp12345 · 12/12/2025 21:07

Halo.

bonesandbooth2025 · 12/12/2025 22:27

I really like my vax. It’s better on hard floors than my corded shark, the battery life is about 45 mins and it’s light
downside is the bin bit is small but that’s a minor thing. I’ve barely used my shark since I bought it

Beebumble2 · 13/12/2025 00:13

We have a Shark detect cordless that automatically empties when docked on the charger. It’s brilliant.

LemaxObsessive · 13/12/2025 00:19

Henry Quick is amazzzzzing! I’d given up the search for an actually powerful cordless and had decided it wasn’t possible on battery power to actually have decent suction but the Henry Quick is some sort of magical device, to the point where if I use the boost mode on carpet, I can’t even move it.
Con: It does require buying pods BUT because it compresses the dirt they do each last months and emptying is clean and cloud-less! I bloody love mine. It’s used 3/4 times a day.
PS It does come with a load of pods too, which lasted me 8 months altogether

Scrabblingabout · 13/12/2025 19:51

Got a Samsung jet today. Seems far better built than the Dyson.

Baffled by the lack of instructions eg the charger unit is confusing but I found some videos and other than that I have got a very good first impression!

Will report back in a couple of days for others interested.

@Scrabblingabout have you considered a Henry quick?

foodtoorder · 13/12/2025 20:04

Sorry just realised you bought one but agree with above poster, Henry/numatic products won't let you down.

JDM625 · 16/12/2025 13:51

How is the machine OP? Any update as yet?
