Simply because I have two, which go back to my childhood. We lived in a house, half a mile from the nearest road, and didn't have mains electricity until 1976 so relied on oil lamps for lighting upstairs and gas lights downstairs! I vividly recall my mum struggling to source replacement mantles for the gas lights.

Anyway, having digressed, I am hoping to get the oil lamps working again and am looking online for replacement wicks!
