If I need to pick someone up from Southampton Ice Rink ...

... where should I park? I've never driven in the city centre before but, from memory, it's a big ring road.

I'd be picking up at about 9.15pm if that makes a difference. But I may need to wait for them, so it needs to be somewhere I can conveniently park for 10-15 mins.

We don't have an ice rink in Southampton 😂

Mincepietastic · 11/12/2025 16:56

Do you mean at Westquay? If so, the shopping centre has parking

Yes, that's the one. I'll check out the shopping centre car park.

Yes you do. It's called Westquay on Ice and its address is Southampton SO15 1FQ

Hmm, looks like a multi storey so not ideal for a quick pick-up. Thanks anyway though.

Oh ok - it's not really an ice rink, it's just a small temporary skating surface they put down for a few weeks at Christmas.
Be careful driving into town- most of the routes are closed off now. Either one way or Buses only. The dual carriageway past IKEA is really the only route into town now

RolandOnTheRopes · 11/12/2025 17:57

There is an outdoor carpark for the Quays leisure centre which is close by if you don't want to go into the West Quay multistorey.
Not sure what the parking restrictions are but it's called Harbour Parade SO15 1ST

99victoria · 11/12/2025 18:05

Don't drive down Harbour Parade though - it's a bus lane now. There's nothing to stop you but you'll get a fine. You have to drive down to the docks and then back into town

dammit88 · 11/12/2025 18:22

I agree west quay multistorey would be both the best and safest place

RolandOnTheRopes · 11/12/2025 19:06

@99victoria which bit is a bus lane? I've not been into town for a while but was planning to next week for some Christmas shopping. Can you still get to the roundabout for West Quay and the Quays from the dual carriageway? Past the Carnival office?

You can park in West Quay retail park - it's the open air car park next to Argos, etc.
