DP is objectively not an attractive man...

He's short, bald, a bit dumpy, his skin makes him look older than he is.

But, when he smiles......

And despite not being a traditionally attractive man...I could look at his squidy face when he's all relaxed, all day.

What is it exactly that makes someone attractive to an individual, rather than being someone everyone can see is attractive iyswim.

My DP is trans (FTM) and very insecure about the way he looks.

I just see his beautiful eyes and smile. He feels like home and security.

I think confidence is attractive. Not arrogance though.

I always wondered, I’ve never found conventionally attractive men attractive. I can look at them and know they are objectively handsome, I just have no interest, don’t find those kinds of men in the least bit sexually attractive. My current crush is a slightly balding middle aged man with a massive scar down his face. Theres something about grumpy, softly spoken men I like.

I think women aren’t as visual as men either,

Absolutely agree with you all - my DH fits that bill perfectly, it’s his being “him” and not a cliché of a “handsome man” that makes him just right!

eta Fully agree about the visual aspect of attraction (theres a link here to porn but this isn’t the place
to work that one in detail!)
