Something funny has been happening in our house lately and I’m honestly not questioning it in case it disappears. My usually “please don’t make me do chores” child has suddenly started helping out without me even asking. Yesterday they put their own laundry in the basket and today they wiped the table after breakfast like it was the most normal thing in the world.
I didn’t do anything special. No charts, no rewards, no long talks. They just seem to be in a little “I want to be grown up” phase and I’m quietly enjoying every second of it. I’m giving a lot of praise so they know it’s noticed, but I’m also trying not to make a big fuss so the magic doesn’t fade.
