What is this sound coming from underneath my oven

It’s quite a loud tapping. I wish I could upload a video of the noise!

It’s underneath my oven, it’s been tapping on and off for the whole day. It doesn’t stop when I kick and the sound is only in that area. No signs of droppings. Whatever it is, it sounds big and is active day and night but not consistently. Sounds vary too, sometimes sounds flappy, tappy or scratchy. I’m too afraid to look behind the boards. I am shitting myself!

I had that in my cooker hood. It was a field rat that came in during a storm and got trapped.

Is it Zuul or Gozer?

Last time we heard that noise it was Zuul. It worked out ok though, the bloody big rat next to him scared Zuul off.

Yeah I did that. It couldn’t listen to the sound but it looked at it as a sound wave - said it could be something loose beneath the oven, that’s tapping sporadically (vent flap). Said it wasn’t consistent with something living. No signs of droppings. I left a few Cheerios on the floor right near where I heard the noise last night and they’re still here.

These are my thoughts to be honest. It’s during the day too and it doesn’t stop if I kick that area. Much worse at night though.

So I’ve taken off the kick board to have a look and no signs of droppings, nesting etc. put trap down anyway. Has anyone had a tapping noise near their oven (quite loud) and it turned out to be something apart from a rodent? I initially thought bird but no signs of anything.

Is it a gas oven? Could it be something to do with the ignition switch? Electric or gas oven could be the cooling of the metal which can clock as temperature changes.

Can you get someone out to look at it? No sign of rodents means there could be a dangerous fault. Don’t take changes with electrics or gas.
