Stomach pain- when to see gp?

Hello, since Sunday I have been experiencing a mostly dull stomach ache which when I eat becomes sharper

I’ve had wind and am really usually healthy and fit. I’m able to eat and have been going to the toilet as usual.

I’ve had rennies and done sport but it’s making me miserable. It hurts when I press down in certain areas but isn’t intolerable.

its so difficult to get a gp appointment (I’ll do a form between 8-830 and then could be called to come in at any point (making me have to miss work and wfh which is not ideal)

so my question is:
when do you seek medical help
where is best to go?

i just can’t think of anything I’ve eaten differently apart from baileys (a few glasses) on Saturday

If it starts becoming unbearable then go to A&E. I remember my friends appendicitis started as a dull ache for several days, it then increased on about day 5 and he projectile vomited and was struggling not to pass out. His gf called an ambulance and they refused to send one as they didn’t think it sounded like appendicitis, they managed to call a friend to take them and when they got there were told his appendix had burst and he went in for surgery.

If it stays the same and is manageable, I’d probably give it a week and then speak to a GP. However there’s no right or wrong time for it really if it’s making you feel unwell.

Where exactly in your stomach? Not a potential kidney stone? That starts with a dull but persistent ache before becoming acute. Gall bladder? Again, starts mild and then builds up

I’d try the GP and stress it’s painful and not something you usually suffer with. I understand how hard getting appointments is - especially when it’s something so unspecific - but you really have to advocate for yourself

Excuse the old adage but 'many a babe been born with the passing of wind' - could you be expecting?

I’m wondering if there is a bug going around. Your symptoms sound like what I had last week. At one point I had horrible mild pains in lower abdomen very uncomfortable to walk. Diet has not changed but was suffering with constipation which is slowly easing.

talking to a colleague of mine today she has similar symptoms. Another colleague at the weekend felt very bloated with similar issues. Definitely feeling better this week.

Definitely not pregnant - I’m on the coil and have peri men symptoms (which is a whole other story)

it’s all in my intestine along the front of my stomach
I’m bloated as I can usually see my abdominal muscles and they are not there (but this too could be the baileys lol)

it’s not too uncomfortable and feels like trapped wind and a bit meh. I just am struggling to shift it and I am struggling to want to eat - which is just crap

I think I’ll try the gp or maybe go the walk in tomorrow but it’s a nightmare with work
