I remember two films that I watched bits of as a child. In the days when there were only 3 channels and lots of old b&w films on during the day.
One (man runs down the street calling out Merry Christmas to his neighbours) turned out to be It's A Wonderful Life.
I'd love to identify the other. All I can remember was it was a war film. There were a group of soldiers or sailors waiting for transport of some kind, and their senior officer came past. One of them grabbed a nearby girl and pretended to kiss her, to hide from the General or whoever. But the girl was the General's daughter and was (in my memory at least) getting onto the train/ship/whatever with them.
This was probably 40 years ago when I watched it so the details may be a bit wrong!
Ring any bells for anyone? It was clearly going to be an Enemies to Lovers set up and I was a sucker for that , even aged 10.
