sat 27th Dec my partner will be out on his works Christmas do. It's all day and night. I will be at home with my 3 DC (16 & 17) who will do their own thing. We will have seen family Christmas day and Boxing day.

What should I do with myself all day ?

My worse nightmare would be going to the shops/sales - no thank you !
We will have just spent 2 days with family
I don't have anywhere to go/things to do
Seeing a friend for coffee could be an option for an hour or 2 .. but not all day

I will be shattered from Christmas & Boxing day. Socially, things in my area/ friends will be almost non existent on the weekend after Christmas.

I am not joined at the hip to my partner and am fine when he goes out at other times .. I just feel this specific day is going to have nothing going on socially for me/ and there is one around. DC have own plans.

Thoughts ?

Sounds like a classic down time day to me! Like you said you’ll be shattered from the busyness of the previous days, I’d not make big plans just have a chill day doing not very much :)

I'd go for a long walk then have an afternoon takeaway with a film. Then a glass of wine in the bath.

I'm hoping the weather will be dark, grey and miserable.. it makes being at home more cosy. For once. I might have a day of not getting dressed.. although I like the idea of a long walk ..

Go out for a walk in the morning, have cake and a cuppa somewhere then spend the afternoon in pj’s or your preferred lying on the sofa outfit watch random nonsense, read a good book. Just completely switch off and get takeaway for tea!
