Washable biro ink recommendations.

I have ruined 2 NHS tunics when pens have burst and I've been unable to wash the ink out. Can anyone please recommend a pen with washable ink?

  1. Crayola Ultra-Clean Washable Markers/Pens
  • Ink Type: Water-based, non-toxic, and specially formulated to be highly soluble.
  • Why it Works: While Crayola is famous for markers, their pen and marker lines are the gold standard for parents and teachers specifically because of their superior washability from skin, clothes, and walls.
  • Best For: Everyday quick notes where accidental staining is a major concern.
  1. Pilot Frixion Series (Erasable Ink)
  • Ink Type: Thermosensitive gel ink.
  • Why it Works: The ink isn't washed out by water; it's removed by heat. While this isn't "washable" in the traditional sense, the heat from a standard washing machine (or dryer) will often cause the ink to disappear from fabric. However, note that freezing the fabric may make the ink reappear.
  • Best For: Writing on paper where you need an erasable, yet smooth-writing, alternative. They are popular globally and widely available.

Thanks Nancy88, I hadn't thought of Crayola, I thought they were just felt tips. I've seen the pilot ones, I'll give them a go! .
